Steeden sponsored Cambridge University ARLFC took one step closer to winning the Midlands BUCS for the first time in a long while with a resounding 34-4 victory against Staffordshire Uni.

In a much changed side from the one which beat Southgate, Cambridge put on a fine display of solid defence and enterprising attack to keep up there title hopes. There were league debuts for Aaron Sonenfield, Adam Rimmer, and Alex Spain as the Green Lions continued there good start to matches to pile on the pressure early. Staffs Uni responded well though and took the fight to Cambridge until half time, but the Lions came out in the second half and tightened up there defence to seal the match.

Today’s match against Nott’s Trent Uni is now a winner takes all for the BUCS midlands title.

Steeden are wishing Cambridge the best of luck!
